What happens
When
You need an answer that lives in your Outlook email or Microsoft 365 files.
Then
- Claude searches the Microsoft 365 content you have access to.
- It answers or drafts, pointing to the emails and files it used.
How the tools connect
With a built-in integration. Claude lists Microsoft 365 as an integration on its website.
Set it up
On a paid Claude plan, connect Microsoft 365. On Team or Enterprise plans an admin may need to allow it first.
Ask a specific question, such as "summarise what the client asked for in last week's emails".
Open the sources it lists before acting on the answer.
Menus change, so these steps say what to do rather than where to click. Each company's help pages have the current screens.
Watch out for
- Check your company's rules on which data may be used with AI tools before connecting.

Turn chat requests into tracked tasks
Requests made in chat get lost once the conversation scrolls away. Creating a task from the message keeps a link to it, with an owner and a due date.

Start a client onboarding project when a deal closes
The hand-over from sales to delivery is where details get lost. Creating the project from a template when the deal is won means every client gets the same first steps.
