Get receipts into your books without typing / Lesson 2 of 3

Let AI sort them, then review

Every receipt has the right vendor, amount, tax and category, ready to export.

About 10 minutes

How to automatically scan and categorize receipts to Excel using SparkReceipt. By SparkReceipt (official channel), played from YouTube.

Step by step

  1. Check what was read

For each receipt, the AI pulls out the vendor, amount, date, tax and currency, plus line items, and assigns a category.

  2. Decide how much to review

You can approve receipts automatically or review each one first. Start by reviewing for a week, then switch to automatic once you trust the categories.

  3. Add rules in plain language

On the Elite plan, write AI rules such as "fuel goes to Vehicle expenses" so receipts are routed to the right account every time.

  4. Export when you need to

Send the data to Google Sheets, Excel or CSV, or create an expense report as PDF, Excel, CSV or ZIP.

  5. Invite your accountant

Your accountant can join for free without using a paid seat.
