Never miss a website lead / Lesson 3 of 4
Send every lead to HubSpot with Zapier
Each form submission creates or updates a contact in HubSpot's free CRM.
About 15 minutes
Step by step
Why Zapier is needed
Tally does not connect to HubSpot directly, so a Zap passes each submission across. Zapier offers a ready-made template for Tally to HubSpot.
Create a Zap
In Zapier, choose "Create a Zap" from the left-hand menu. For the trigger, pick Tally and the "New Submission" event, connect your Tally account and select your contact form.
Add the HubSpot step
Add an action, pick HubSpot and choose "Create or Update Contact". It matches on email address, so someone who writes twice updates one contact instead of creating a duplicate.
Map the fields
Match each form answer to a HubSpot contact property: Email, First name, Last name, Phone number. You can also fill in Lifecycle stage, which HubSpot uses to show where a contact is in your sales process.
Test and publish
Submit a test entry on your form, test the Zap with that sample, check the contact appears in HubSpot, then publish. Zap History shows every run if something goes wrong.
Good to know
- Use "Create or Update Contact" rather than "Create Contact", which adds a new record every time.
- Each completed action counts as one Zapier task, so check how many tasks a month your Zapier plan includes.
- HubSpot formats phone numbers by country code, so ask for the country code on the form.
